c.1933 Mickey Mouse On Tricycle with Pluto Running
During my recent small town auction hunting I found this early pre-war Japanese celluloid & tin toy featuring Mickey Mouse and Pluto. Never seen this toy before and couldn't find it in any of my references. Clockwork tricycle moves forward, while bell behind Mickey rings. Pluto attached to the large front wheel moves up and down which gives the effect of a running motion. Overall it grades excellent+ and works great! Mickey and Pluto are all celluloid. Pluto is marked "Japan" with a copyright © symbol and trademark. The trademark is a capital letter S and Y inside a diamond. Probably Yoneya. Mickey is marked "Made In Japan". String reins look original. Tricycle is all tin litho with nickel plated steel bell. Solid green frame and handlebars has multiple colored tinplate wheels. Key is attached. The front wheel is marked "Made In Japan" and has an unknown non-lettered trademark. Size: 7½" x 5 "x 3¼". Date Sold: Jul. 2009
